MUSELAR VIRGINAL BY ERNEST MILLER, 1993

Length = 70inches; Width = 20-1/2inches
Tuning: A=440, but also sounds well at lower pitches.
This instrument has a bold tone, with the full, rich bass that is a special
feature of Miller's instruments.
Keyboard: C - c3 chromatic, ebony naturals, bone-slipped sharps, arcaded fronts.

This instrument is ideal for the music of the English virginalists and Sweelinck,
but also encompasses the works of Frescobaldi, Froberger, Buxtehude, and
the entire 17th century keyboard repertoire up through Purcell.  However, it
also sorts out quite nicely any Bach piece that falls within its range (e.g. much
of the WTC, the Inventions, Sinfonias, etc. etc.).

Decoration:  Louis XV style, with highly reflective black "French" finish.

The instrument is trimmed in 24-carat gold leaf and features a fully painted soundboard

and Latin inscription ("Music is the Companion of Joy and the Medicine of Sorrows").
The instrument sits in a beautifully turned cabriole stand, from which it can be removed
for easy portability.

Special Features: The instrument comes with a matching bench

and matching detachable music stand. A full stringing schedule and
"Seasonal Maintenace Guide" will also be provided.

The sound and portability of this instrument make it ideal for continuo and
ensemble work. This outstanding piece by a skilled builder will function
equally well as a versatile historical keyboard instrument or as a spectacularly
beautiful piece of decorative furniture. $7,000.00
